Feeling 22

My birthday TOMORROW, August 29th, and I’ll  be turning 23!!!

With the arrival of another birthday and the passing of another year, I am forced to look back on the one that’s just gone. I cannot believe that I’ve spent 11 of the 12 months of my 22nd year here in Ireland. It was the perfect year filled with new adventures, people, love, and laughter. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought Ireland would be the place I’d spend this year.

Let’s have a quick look back at my 22nd year.

Happy 22nd Birthday to Me!

The month of September was spent doing what we do best – going to Auburn football games. War Eagle!!!!

And then on September 29, I hugged my family goodbye and flew to Ireland!

I spent the month finding an apartment, filling out tax forms, going to job interviews, and learning my way around Dublin.

The second month in Ireland was spent getting to know my flattmates and slowly making my way into the work force.

I also spent Thanks Giving in Dublin and had a great time with some Americans, Canadians, and a few Irish people.

Marian, Sarah, and I traveled to Belgium visiting Brussels, Bruges, and Ghent.

I spent my first Christmas away from home. It was difficult and not easy, but with friends and good food, Christmas was just as special.

January 2014

Boy was January cold! The days were very short and the nights were long. I also began working at Northern Trust!

At the end of the month, I went to Sweden with my best friend Matilda. She showed me around her hometown and introduced me to Swedish foods.

I took a holiday from work and went to Norway with my friend Jacquie.

March was all about about Ireland as I traveled around the country and celebrated St. Patrick’s Day.

Early April I took a quick trip over to Rotterdam, Holland to visit some family friends and spent some much needed time in the sun.

May was probably the most moving month as I prepared for a quick trip home to Georgia following a 5 day trip to Israel. Words cannot describe how incredible my trip to Israel was.

June was easily one of the busiest months in my 22nd year.

I was home for a week, in France, Monaco, and England. It was crazy! But I was so happy to be able to spend some great time with my family. 🙂

July I suffered from major disappointment as I began to realize that I didn’t have much time left. I finished work at Norther Trust and resumed small temp contracts.

I’ve spent this month working and spending precious time with my friends.

It’s been a great last month of my 22nd year.

My 22nd year was one for the books. I have been incredibly blessed and can never say thank you enough to all of the people I met along the way. Each of you helped to make this year the most special year, and I am forever grateful.

Thank you all and cheers to the 23rd year!
