Tour companies such as First Choice offer top-notch experiences around the world, and one of the locations they promote is Turkey. Turkey is rich with history, culture, and landscape. It is a true wonder to behold.

The four destinations First Choice promotes for escaping the stresses of everyday life and enjoying the beach are the Ismir, Bodrum, Dalaman, and Antalya areas. Each site boasts its own resorts and specialties. Clubbing, sailing, and soaking up the Mediterranean sun are just a few of the things those areas have to offer.

If the beach isn’t your thing, then have a look around some of Turkey’s historical locations. The Roman city of Ephesus boasts ancient architecture and a story that crosses the ages. Istanbul sits at the crossroads of the West and the East. It joins Europe and Asia casually in one city with culture erupting in every corner. How many other major cities can claim that? You can even take a Turkish bath, called a Hammam! Who wouldn’t want that?

Turkish culture is known to be rich and beautiful. Within that culture is hospitable people and delicious food. Turkish people have been known to welcome people into their homes with having known them for only a few minutes. What an incredibly wonderful people? Turkey is also known for its ability to barbecue (or grill as we would say in America) anything! Some restaurants exists that survive solely on barbecuing.

I don’t know about you, but all of that sounds like the best getaway.

Oh Turkey….

In some parts of Turkey, temperature in the summer months can creep over 40c (104f), but when you’re tanning on the beach or soaking in that bath, the weather takes a backseat to life’s troubles. Other areas of Turkey only see an average high around 30c (86f). Winter weather is much cooler with the temperature more manageable.

One must have a visa to enter Turkey, so be sure to be up to date on the visa requirements.

Turkey is one of those places that has just about everything you could want. It has mountains, beaches, history, and culture. Within its borders is something for everyone!

I’m thinking about Turkey.

Are you?
